I’ve had this unrelenting suspicion over the past few weeks that Tumblr is such a successful publishing platform because of its near frictionless system.
Tumblr, like Yojimbo, is an Everything Bucket. There is no fear or intimidation on what to write, when the options are flung wide open and custom packaged to treat any and every type of post as a first-class citizen.
To prove my point and help myself write the article, I’ve set up this Tumblr account. Well, that, and I wanted to see what it is that Marco does all day.

This is such a great look into a different time. Deep contemplation was a regular part of life, and seems almost impossible to me in this day and age with the tumult going on around us.
On another note, I love his hours of sleep. I’ve been getting up at 4:30 AM for the past 18 months (except Sundays) and it’s been a blessing. Surprisingly enough, I function just as well as I did when I was getting a lot more sleep.
I remember hearing an old Proverb somewhere: “Every hour of sleep before midnight is worth two hours afterwards.” So true.

Why you should be collecting mentors – Manage Your Life on Shine
I think the idea of mentoring and apprenticeship is a lost one that deserves resurrection in this day and age. Now more than ever.
North Korea’s Counterfeiters | vanityfair.com
I’ve long been a fan of Vanity Fair’s work but this piece is just flat out fascinating. North Korea has been waging what amounts to financial warfare, through the printing of near perfect counterfeit currency, with the US for years. This article not only uncovers the players but also why nothing is being done about it.
