Engaged in Acts of Love

“When we are engaged in acts of love, we humans are at our best and most resilient. The love in romance that makes us want to be better people, the love of children that makes us change our whole lives to meet their needs, the love of family that makes us drop everything to take care of them, the love of community that makes us work tirelessly with broken hearts”

— Adrienne Maree Brown , Emergent Strategy

“Every day, try to find one little bit of annoyance in the apartment/home/shack and shift it. Do this for 30 days and you’ll have an entirely new home in spirit, if not possessions.”

— Craig Mod, Roden 037

This has been working wonders for the spirits in my house too.

This morning’s thought: Love takes courage. The price of love is vulnerability. The deeper the love, the more vulnerable one must become. To love, is to open one’s self up to another and trust them with the power to carve the deepest of wounds. Love is a kind of bravery.

“How do I listen to others? As if everyone were my Master, speaking to me his cherished last words.”

— Hafiz

Listening is love.
