You know when you are a little kid and you hear someone say they are 55 and that just seems so, old? Well, now that I’m here I realize just how silly that is. The truth of the matter is that at 55 I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life — both physically and mentally. I often quip that I’m not getting older, I’m getting better. And I really do believe that.

This year, I’m treating my birthday like a new year. I’ve come up with a few personal projects; things I plan to start today (above). I’ll revisit this list often. Check things off at 56 if completed. Consider their value via the results.

Other than that, I have no more wisdom to pass along other than that I try to practice every day: Kindness, compassion, and love — beginning with yourself.
